Purrfect Mess ("the App", "we", "our") is a cozy, single-player tidy-up game: you drag misplaced objects back into place and wipe away stains across a set of vertically-scrolling rooms, while a cartoon cat wanders in and knocks things over. This policy explains, plainly and specifically, what the App does and does not do with your information.
Purrfect Mess is a general-audience puzzle/relaxation game with no violence, no user-to-user contact, no chat, and no ability for one player to interact with another. Its cute-cat, cozy-home art style will plausibly appeal to children as well as adults, so we have written this policy โ and configured the app's advertising โ with that mixed audience in mind:
The App saves your game progress locally, using your device's standard localStorage mechanism. None of this data is transmitted to us or to any server we control โ it never leaves your device except as described in ยง3 (advertising) and ยง4 (sharing your own exported content).
| What's stored | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Which chapter and level you last reached, and your in-progress layout for the level you're currently on | Lets you resume where you left off |
| Which chapters you've unlocked | Chapter-select progress |
| Your selected language | Remembers your language choice (Chinese, English, Japanese, or Spanish) |
| Whether sound is muted | Remembers your audio preference |
| Whether you've purchased the "remove ads" option, ad-timing counters (install date, levels played since last ad, last-ad timestamp), and a short-lived "pending reward" marker used to correctly grant a rewarded-ad bonus if the app is closed mid-ad | Controls ad frequency and in-app purchase state (see ยง3 and ยง5) |
None of this data identifies you personally, is associated with your name or account (there is none), or is sent anywhere. Uninstalling the App or clearing its site data removes all of it.
The App shows two kinds of ads served by Google AdMob: an occasional interstitial (full-screen) ad between levels, and an optional rewarded-video ad you can choose to watch in exchange for an in-game hint or a "clean brush" power-up. Ads are not shown constantly โ the App enforces a grace period for new installs and a cooldown between interstitials.
You can review Google's practices at policies.google.com/technologies/ads and manage your device's ad-personalization settings in iOS Settings โ Privacy & Security โ Tracking, or in your Google Account's Ad Settings.
At the end of each chapter, the App can generate a keepsake of the room you just tidied: either a static before/after comparison image, or โ when your device supports it โ a short replay-style video assembled entirely on your device from the game's own canvas rendering (with the game's background music/sound effects mixed in). This is generated content of your gameplay session; it is not a photo taken with your camera and does not include your microphone or any personal media from your device.
[As of this document's writing, the App does not offer any purchase you can make โ there is no "Remove Ads" button or purchase screen anywhere in the current build. A "Remove Ads" purchase is planned for a future version, at which point this section will be updated to describe it accurately before that version ships.] If and when a purchase option is enabled, purchase processing will be handled by Apple and RevenueCat; we will not see or store your payment details, which are handled entirely by Apple's App Store billing system. RevenueCat would receive a purchase receipt and an anonymous device identifier to validate entitlement โ no personal profile would be created by us.
Purrfect Mess does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children, because the App does not provide any means to enter personal information in the first place. However, because the App is likely to be played by children given its art style and subject matter, and because it displays third-party advertising, parents and guardians should be aware that:
store/app-store-metadata.md for our recommended rating and reasoning) before allowing a child to play unsupervised. If we change what data the App collects โ for example, if in-app purchases are fully enabled, if a new advertising SDK is added, or if a server-side leaderboard is introduced in a future version โ we will update this page and the "Last updated" date above.
